Looking Back at 2014
in Lowell politics? The city
election in November will decide
who will serve on the city council and
the school committee. I have already
heard the name of three Cambodian
residents of Lowell who are thinking
about running for city council.
Because voters can vote for nine
councilors and not just one, having
several
candidates
from
the
Cambodian community could help
them all.

Back in October, Governor
Patrick delivered $15 million to the
city to be used for improving the Lord
Overpass and Thorndike Street. In
2015, the city will select a new design
for these roadways. Hopefully it will
make it easier to get from Cambodia
Town, the lower Highlands and the
Acre to downtown Lowell and the
Hamilton Canal District. This would
be a great help to residents and businesses in those neighborhoods.
