Title

Needlework: Sarou Sieng and her Srom Kinae, 1987

Date

1987

Description

This needlework was made by Sarou Sieng who lives on Kimball Road in Lowell, Massachusetts. Originally she intended to make a large scale representation of the famous Angkor Wat, the celebrated Buddhist temple which is located in the old capital city of Angkor. Sarou Sieng became ill a few days after she began working on the project. This piece of her needlework is called a Srom Kinae and is used as a pillow case. The design is her own and was drawn for her by her son-in-law who lives with her. The picture was taken during her recovery from the operation.
